your polished gleam, and innocence at heart
had me waiting with baited breath for you to come my way
and when i finally sunk my teeth into you, i discovered
you were slow to let go, your sweetness stuck
and i would not soon escape
this intoxicating romance

The sweet prompt came from  http://dversepoets.com/ "fair" challenge!

Wow. I love it. So I thought as I read before looking at your pic prompt you were talking about a love, ya know guy or gal and then behold the apple. Lovely and sweet. come back more. Here's my kissing and cool signs :-* B-) Thanks.

This did it for me. Getting away from the crowds and the obvious. Great result that, given the topic. Congrats!

So cool! What a great metaphorical take on the prompt.

Personna, You're so right - a metaphor
Yes Brian, I have no desire to escape, nor as Heaven said, to let go of that "sweetness" Kim - you were right both times as boys and candied fruit have much in common!
Really enjoy the feedback, and dVerse's forum of engaged writers!

Personally, I think that candied apples are much less troublesome than boys! Nice take on the prompt!

Mary, you made me laugh!!
Actually, my boy is dry rubbing a pork shoulder to be slow roasted and pulled tomorrow!
He's worth all the work he creates!
